Auto Union presented its new Horch 850 series (eight-cylinder in-line engine, 5-liter displacement) at the International Motor Show in Berlin in February 1935. The highlight of the 850 model series was the 853, a sports convertible that became a great success in its class. In particular, its lines and combination of practicality delighted experts and customers alike.

The 853 convertibles have a shape that not only looks elegant, but also stately. The long front points to the descent from the sporty Horch 850.Altogether the Horch 853 was in the 30’s by the progressiveness of the construction, the balanced Design and the noble equipment, a true sensation – whereby it is today very estimated as representative old timer.

In total, over 1,000 examples of the Horch 853 were built at the Horch factory in Zwickau between 1935 and 1940.
